The Magnettes Deliver Passionate Summerfest Set Ahead Of Debut Album
The Magnettes turned in an incredible performance at Summerfest‘s 50th installation in Milwaukee on Wednesday.
The festival, in its golden year, kicked off festivities on June 28th.
At the Johnson Controls World Sound Stage, Swedish outfit, The Magnettes brought energy and relatability, delighting a hooked audience.
Dressed in black and white cheerleader outfits that displayed “Witch” for Sanna Kalla, and “Psycho” for Rebecka Digervall, The Magnettes were certainly lovable, memorable, and full of talent with solid vocals and catchy beats.
The front ladies touched on growing up in a small town in Sweden that is located above the arctic circle. The set was full of empowering prose of being an outsider, finding solace in the comfort of unique friends, and being alright with not being the prettiest girl in the room.
Toward the end of their set, they even threw in a unique cover by “old dude” Bruce Springsteen, “Dancing In The Dark”.
They finished with the notable track, “Sad Girls Club”. “If you don’t want to smile when the world treats you like shit, you can be a part of this song!”
After their set’s completion, The Magnettes apologized to the cheering crowd for having to jet back to Sweden but told the crowd, “We are so happy we’re here. We fucking love you!”
The band’s debut album, “Ugly Youth” is set to be released on June 30th.
