Watch and Listen to Bryan Adams Powerful Cry For Peace, “What If There Were No Sides At All”
Immensely talented singer-songwriter Bryan Adams has released a powerful anthem for peace entitled “What If There Were No Sides At All”.
In the same contemplative vein as classics like “Imagine” and “Masters of War”, Adams reflects, “What if there were no sides at all… Just a big blue ball – floating in space. It’s a beautiful world – but a dangerous place. It’s perfectly round – it’s perfectly clear. There are no sides – on a perfect sphere.”
The gentle lyrics pair perfectly with a strumming acoustic guitar and added hints of electric notes thrown in.
The equally impactful music video is made to not be reflective of any location, but is meant to represent conflicts in the world.
In the video’s YouTube description, the skillful songsmith explains, “This is an anti-war peace song written with aim to provoke thought and perhaps even encourage governments to sit down and talk peace. At the moment there is only escalating division and death – a result of the billions of dollars spent by governments to fund these endless wars.”
The video begins with Adams walking through war-torn streets carrying a white flag of peace. Through the video’s progression, Adams continues strolling with the white flag in hand next to a border wall topped with barbed wire. During the chorus, the shot pans to a forest and mountain scape where listener can see the recognizable flag of peace flying proud.
The video finishes with the quote, “The first casualty of war is the truth”. The quote has been referenced many times throughout history in times of calamity.
The Canadian superstar’s unforgettable hits include the likes of “Run To You”, “Summer of 69” and “Everything I Do (I Do It For You)”.
He is currently on tour with the legendary Joan Jett in support of his latest album, So Happy It Hurts, which was released in 2022.

“What If There Were No Sides At All” lyrics :
What if there were no sides at all
What if there were no sides at all
Just a big blue ball – floating in space
It’s a beautiful world – but a dangerous place
It’s perfectly round – it’s perfectly clear
There are no sides – on a perfect sphere
What if there were no sides at all
What if there were no sides at all
Don’t make me hate – don’t make me choose
Why should one side win and the other side lose
I don’t understand – why take sides at all
There are no sides – on this big blue ball
We tell ourselves it’s the stand we take
But there’s no sides except the ones we make
What if there were no sides at all
What if there were no sides at all
