Gorillaz Announce First North American Tour In Seven Years
Gorillaz (AKA the most successful virtual band ever) have announced their first North American tour in seven years.
The announcement comes after the news of the band’s 5th LP, “Humanz“, which is due out later this month. The album is also Gorillaz first LP since 2010, with their latest effort entitled “Plastic Beach”.
Gorillaz have been going strong since 1998, making epic music and an artistic world unlike any other. The two musical superstars that comprise Gorillaz – Damon Albarn (of Blur rockstar fame), and talented illustrator Jamie Hewlett (cue the distinctive look of “Tank Girl“) have made a career out of creating their own world that burrows deep into rock ‘n’ roll, art, an distinguished electronic prose.
Despite their dormancy as a unit, the pair are still pushing the boundaries of technology and music.
The tour will make a stop at Detroit’s Fox Theater, as well as several other locations across the US and Canada.
Be sure to pick up “Humanz”, which hits shelves on April 28th. The album is available for pre-order now as a basic compact disc, as well as several varying deluxe versions.
